COINS THROWN ON BODIES INVESTED FOR `ANANDA` CHILDREN FILM BY JOHN DEVARAJ

There are some startling realities in life that are difficult to digest. It is not cinematic but real one should know. The director and producer of ‘Ananda’ Haku Santoshakke Lagge John Devaraj the internationally acclaimed painter and sculptor running Born Free Art School where 500 children neglected by the society life has collected funds from Rs.2 to maximum of Rs.20 for his Rs.80000 film ‘Ananda’,

One of the child frequently observing coins thrown on bodies in the procession collected 50 paisa and one rupee coin made Rs.20 and handed it over to his mentor John Devaraj. That money is invested for the production of the film ‘Ananda’ says John Devaraj.

On the eve of the children day John Devaraj screened the ‘Ananda’ film at Renukamba theatre in Malleswaram. It is all about the life of destitute children who are neglected after birth. There are some very hard realities John Devaraj captured that shake any stony heart.


John Devaraj a civil engineer qualified has constructed a formidable ground for children thrown out from families. He is into cinema as art director a multifaceted personality has directed ‘Ananda’ a children film that has already been screen in Japan and Czech countries. This cinema is shot in guerilla style highlighting the reality. John Devaraj has produced the film in the banner of Born Free Art School.
